Royal City Rhythm is a high-energy funk collective hailing from Guelph, Ontario, delivering the timeless grooves of funk classics with a fresh, infectious twist. Built on a tight rhythm section and a powerhouse horn lineup, RCR brings the party wherever they play from disco dance floors to summer festival stages.
Formed by bassist Kennedy Shaw and guitarist Lucas Williams, the band was born out of a shared love for the golden era of funk and a desire to get people moving. With deep respect for the genre’s pioneers and a drive to make each performance unforgettable, Royal City Rhythm pays tribute to legends like Earth, Wind & Fire, Parliament Funkadelic, Sly and the Family Stone, and many others while making each song their own.
